THE ULTIMATE BIOMECHANICS COACHING FOR RIDERS www.equipilates.com

Consultations involve a clinical assessment to identify where your body isn’t functioning properly.  This highlights any pelvic and spinal mobility issues, as well as underlying muscle spasm and nerve mobility issues.  You will then practise some awareness and alignment work on the saddle horse; you are encouraged to bring your own saddle for this so that alignment awareness is on a familiar base.

During the session you will learn how to find your ‘neutral’ spine, the ideal position you will be working towards maintaining whilst riding, and we will ensure you understand how to achieve this when you are working on your own.  I will show you how and when to activate the correct core muscles appropriate for riding also whilst on the saddle horse, plus breathing techniques for tension release.  You will receive relevant worksheets on the exercises covered to help you practise effectively at home.

A full and progressive programme of exercises is recommended to ensure your body is working at its biomechanical best for your chosen equestrian activity. This also reduces risk of injury and pain/discomfort associated with biomechanical dysfunction.
